Hello everyone (links to Star Trek enneagram 3's) [Dec. 8th, 2007|10:04 pm]
[Current Location |looking at lj]
[mood |amusedamused]

Nice to see you all. I'm a 3. I've noticed there are some interesting affirmations on the site, which are quite challenging for a three. This whole thing of being vulnerable and letting go seems to be a big issue for threes (now there's a grand statement to make)

Anyways, if you like Star Trek there are a couple of interesting sites which have something about enneagram and type 3's in the programmes.

They're both by the same person here is the webpage (http://www.sturr.net/enneatrek/) and the LJ (http://enneatrek-lj.livejournal.com/) Enjoy!

Finally! I thought I had joined this community awhile ago, but apparently I hadn't... I FAILED!

This is exciting, as I have been fully obsessed with the Enneagram for the past year about, as are ALL my friends (not kidding), and it's fun to discuss this stuff with people outside my circle of friends.

A little about myself:

I am a 3w4, sometimes with a HEAVY 4 wing, so heavy it HURTS often. I have been actively working on my "3 shit" for the past year or so, and it's fun to catch myself "turning it on" to impress people.

My 3-ness really got me in trouble in the past few years by extending myself WAY TOO THIN with political work and activism, becoming a major workaholic. I burned out really hard... you could read about my reflections on it if you want:

It's going to be fun to discuss 3-ness with all of you, and I look forward to it.

I have noticed that our community does not yet have an icon!
I don't have any imaging programs on my computer, so maybe one of you could crop these to 100x100 pixels? It looks like it should fit.

That's a pretty simple main icon - good to start with, I think.

And then anchovie can upload it!

There's also the option of using an image from the Enneagraminstitute site.

Hello! [Apr. 14th, 2004|10:37 pm]

[mood |pensiveintrospective]

I am a 3w4. I just wanted to introduce myself, as well as add to the posts here so this community can start moving!

I think this is a great idea, because threes are too often misunderstood - much of the literature out there focuses on the social interaction of threes, as well as their drive for success. What I have read has not always portrayed threes' inner problems with accepting love and believing in empathy that drives them to be as successful as they can be in order to gain self-worth.

Also, there tends to be more written about 3w2s, because they are archetypaly more threeish, it seems. Given the two wing, they are much more likely to fall into competition with other people, seeking to be able to announce that they are the best one. Whereas 3w4s seek to compete against themselves, in a way. It is not enough to be the best one, the four wing adds a desire to acheive success through realization of full, unique potential.

That is all for now. I hope you guys are still reading.

Discussion is welcome!

Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" [Feb. 9th, 2004|12:09 pm]

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Sometimes I adore the hilarity of failure, that purposelessness which means there's nothing you can or must or will do to change. That feeling of being stuck can sometimes content and relax me stupidly.
